Travelled here from Michigan for a 2 day course in trad fundamentals. The guide, Tori, was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, and her story was inspiring. The course was tailored to individual needs, based on prior experience and goals, and I left the course feeling like I was taking with me a great experience as well as a wealth of practical knowledge.
The course is also one of the more affordable trad courses that I could find in the entire United States, and if you can get a friend or two to join, the price goes down a bit.
We camped on site, and the facilities are excellent. Access to restrooms and shower, as well as a full outdoor kitchen for use during our stay. Would highly recommend this guide service!
My kids (11 and 13) were led up the east face of Seneca Rocks on 11/25 to the south summit. Their guide, Matt, was great with them and pushed them just the right amount so they could learn. We will be back for more climbs and to their climbing school. Thanks!
Great place to spot and enjoy a quiet lunch and relax. Great that it has picnic tables for all to enjoy.
Went down to SRMG for the 2-day trad fundamentals class. Our guide, Tori, made the entire experience very enjoyable. Great professional attitudes from everyone there, and guides who will teach you what you want and need to know while making your entire trip fun.
I hired a guide (Matt) from Seneca Rocks Mountain Guides for one day of climbing on 07/14/2013. I also spent the prior night camping in their base camp. I can recommend this guide service highly. My guide (AMGA certified) was fantastic. I didn't want to "learn" anything on this trip. I just wanted to climb a lot, and that is all we did all day long. Fantastic rock and amazing high-exposure routes! The camping area is on the bank of a creek and is very comfortable. There is one restroom and one shower, which is fine because the camping area is not large. There is a nice restaurant and two stores right across the street. I can highly recommend this guide service.
There is a campsite available as well as a shower that has a view of the rocks, bathroom facilities, and access to a beautiful outdoor kitchen right next to the river. There is also an indoor climbing gym designed to allow practicing placing trad gear. Overall, great experience here, and I would hire them again.
